Carlsbad – A Shining Example of True Progress in San Diego County

Bryan Jones

Bryan Jones, the Deputy Director of Transportation in the City of Carlsbad, has hit the ground running. He was hired to specifically implement Complete Streets in Carlsbad. In other words, he was hired to make Carlsbad a more livable community. And he is doing exactly that, extremely well and growing his fan base while being a source of inspiration along the way.

As part of his efforts, he has uncovered some glitches within the Carlsbad’s transportation network and has begun collaborating with his local police department to address these glitches to ensure that all users in the network are accommodated in an equitable manner.

Part of this journey also includes humanizing the work that Jones and his team in Carlsbad are doing and how their work affects everyone in the community. Last week at the Pedestrians Count! Conference held in Los Angeles, Jones unveiled the Livable Streets in Carlsbad video that demonstrates, visually, the hard work he has done to date and how it is improving the lives of residents in Carlsbad and is now attracting new residents and businesses to Carlsbad.
