Fairmount Avenue: Bike Walk Audit Report

Thanks to a generous grant from AARP, BikeSD was able to host a bike/walk audit along Fairmount Avenue. Fairmount Avenue is a historically dangerous north-south corridor that connects Mission Valley to City Heights. On this audit, we focused on improving bikeability and walkability between El Cajon Boulevard and Home Avenue.

Check out the report of our findings below!

We would also like to thank the folks at the League of American Bicyclists for their guidance through this process.

Both organizations show a strong commitment to this important work and the belief that more livable cities are within our reach.

Thanks also to every person who took time to share their knowledge and lived experience about how our community can be made better and safer. Special thanks to Marlyn Gonzales of GEM Coffee for her partnership and hospitality.

BikeSD would like to share our deep appreciation for AARP for the trust and material and fiscal support that made this project possible.
