Does that mean a further delay in striping bike lanes on Ruffin Rd. and Murphy Canyon Rd? On Monday I was the victim of a vehicular assault in the last block of Murphy Canyon Rd. before the tank farm. A truck driver decided to push me off the side into Murphy Creek because he interpreted my slaloming around potholes and pavement cracks to be deliberately delaying his arrival at the tank farm. As a result he was delayed for more than an hour while waiting for the police who never showed up at all.

Yo wpstoll! You did get the driver’s insurance information, right? Do you need pictures of really bad, unrideable pavement, or did you take them already yourself?

  3. Everett says:

It certainly appeared canceled as I stood outsite the library at noon and the facility doesn’t open till 12:30.

Does this group need to vote on the parking removal?

What’s the City saying on this?

  4. Sam Ollinger says:

Everett: I asked our soon to be former bicycle coordinator, Jim Lundquist, to provide an update and it doesn’t seem that parking is the issue.

Jim referred me to the Project Manager Gaetano Martedi who responded as follows:

“The bicycle and vehicular loops have been installed. Final approval and inspection of the loops by the City is ongoing. I anticipate striping to be performed in January”

When I asked the reason for the delay as the lanes were supposed to have been striped in August, he responded,

“We had added additional loops and DLC’s to the project to meet current MUTCD and City standards. Due to the added work we needed to attain additional funding for the striping.”
