Join legions of cyclists this week as San Diegans bike to work.

On Friday, May 21st, there will be pit stops all around San Diego County offering commuters refreshments, beverages, and encouragement. This map lists the locations of all the pit stops. More details on what will be offered is available in this pdf document.

Start a habit this week and continue it well past Friday. Because San Diego is the most perfect place to do it.

EDIT: All pit stops will open at 6AM.

EDIT 2: Much thanks to Bear Naked and Stretch Island Fruit Co who will be giving away the much needed (and appreciated fuel) to all bike commuters in San Diego.

This will be only the second time I’ve missed a Bike to Work Day since 1993. The queen stage of the Tour of California is Friday, May 21, and I’ll be joining thousands of other tifosi at Dawson Summit. At almost 8,000 ft. it is the highest point of this year’s race. The alititude will cause some silliness even before the Bloody Marys.

Leave it to the race organizers to screw things up royally this year by having the race coincide with the Giro d’Italia and BIke to Work Week.
