Hello Bikes del Pueblo,

I'm with the UCSD Network for a Healthy California that is part of a statewide effort of the California Department of Public Health, in partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), focusing on empowering the low-income community to practice better nutrition and lifestyle changes by addressing four key health issues: increasing fruit and vegetable consumption, increasing physical activity, increasing food security, and preventing chronic diseases.

At this tiem we are interested in collaborating with your organization to organize an activity about Bike to Work Month on May 6th at one of our upcoming event. We are in the process of planning our annual Fruit & Veggie Fest will take place on May 6th at the Northgate Gonzalez Market on 43rd Street. We would like to invite your organization to be a part of our event as a community partner. Please contact me if you would like more information about this event, our organization and/or how we can develop a partnership for continuous collaboration. I look forward to hearing back from you

Thank you,

This was an a most excellent writeup! I've seen the Bike Kitchen folks every week that I've been to the City Heights Farmers' market and am very impressed with their mission. Once things settle down, I might try to offer my time to them as well.
